HUNTSBURG PUMPKIN FESTIVAL October 2 & 3, 2010
We would like to invite you to attend our country festival. We are located in Huntsburg, Ohio in Geauga County at the intersections of State Routes 322 & 528. This is our 41st year of providing a free family day in the country.
Free Parking & Shuttle operating 10:00 AM TIL 6:00 PM provided by the Huntsburg Baptist Church & The Huntsburg Festival Committee. Parking at the Huntsburg Baptist Church & Huntsburg Recreational Park only. No Parking on the side of the roads this year.
There is no entrance fee and all of our games, entertainment and attractions are free. We offer free parking and a free shuttle service from the parking areas to the Festival grounds 10:00 am till 6:00 pm. No commercial rides or games. New Pumpkin Shooter both days.
We are the home of the Ohio 2003-2007 record pumpkin 1370 pounds. Grown by Jerry Rose Jr. of Huntsburg. A huge display of Giant Pumpkins weighing in at well over 1500 pounds maybe larger this year will be on display. We have contests for all ages such as Bubble Gum Blowing, Pumpkin Pie Eating, Nail Pounding, Apple peeling, Pumpkin Rock Toss, Pumpkin Baking, Decorated and Carved Pumpkins and Egg Toss. The famous Pumpkin Queen and Tot King & Queen Contest on Saturday. Big – Big Parade on Sunday at 2:15.
Free live entertainment including Laura Fedor as seen on Nashville Star, Cardinal School Cardinaires Show Choir and the Cardinal Marching Band, The Geauga Highlanders Bagpipes, Northern Comfort Country Band, No Money Down Band, Erie Heights Brass Ensemble, Donald Heath on acoustical guitar, Melanie May vocalists, Jungle Terry, K-9 Demos by Geauga County Sheriff’s Dept., The Walnut Hill Cloggers and more. A Car Show, Crafters, Pancake Breakfast, fair food vendors and lots of fun await all. 4-Mile Pumpkin Run on Sunday.
Pancake Breakfast
The Pancake Breakfast is open Saturday & Sunday from 9:00 am until 12:00 Noon. It features all you can eat pancakes and Belgium waffles, sausage, orange juice, real maple syrup and a variety of hot beverages. We serve the Fowler Milling Company’s buttermilk and pumpkin pancake mix, Bob Evans Original Sausage Links with Natural Maple Syrup from Huntsburg Maple Syrup Producers and what a treat they are.
Huntsburg Pumpkin Run
Celebrating its seventh year the Huntsburg Pumpkin Run is part of the North East Ohio Running Club’s Series. The Pumpkin Run held October 3, 2010 at 9:00 am is the 13th leg in the club’s grand prix series. This is the 8th year of the Pumpkin Run and the 41st year of the Huntsburg Pumpkin Festival the 4 mile run travels the Buckeye Trail in Geauga County’s Headwaters Park located at 13365 Old State Road, Middlefield, Ohio. Headwaters Park is a 96-acre reservation located in Claridon and Huntsburg Townships. The trail winds alongside the water, over a stream, through fields and woods offering a peaceful and scenic run. www.northeastrunningclub.org

Carved and Decorated Pumpkin Show entries should be brought to the Huntsburg Center Pavilion on Saturday October 3 between 9:30 and 10:30 am. All entries must remain until 5:30 pm on Sunday. The categories are as follows:
Adult Carved Pumpkin (ages 13 & up)
Adult Decorated Pumpkin (ages 13 & up)
Youth Carved Pumpkin (ages 12 and under)
Youth Decorated Pumpkin (ages 12 & under)
Scarecrows: Standing, sitting, straw, wood or newspaper – anything goes (Head need not be pumpkin)
Totem Poles: Five or more pumpkins, squash or gourds
Baking Contest Register Saturday, Oct 2 by 8:00 am at the Town Hall Judging at 10:00 am. For more information, please contact Bonnie 635-9113. All entries must contain pumpkin as one of the ingredients. Categories are Under 13 Anything pumpkin. Bakers 13 & over may enter Traditional Pumpkin Pies, Cakes, Breads, and other items. Non-traditional pumpkin pies will be entered in the other category.
Horseshoe Tournament Saturday Oct 2 at 10:00 AM register behind the school on the baseball field. Trophy & cash awards.
